Newssheet January 2002
Happy New Year to all club members
There's lots to do in 2002!
- The SCDA festival
- Theatre improvements
- A May production of one act plays
- A late summer production
- A new look juniors production
- An autumn crowd puller
- A barn raising — well actually a wardrobe store clear out
- And of course continuing our panto tradition "Oh yes we are.."
- ....And a trip to see the RSC's The Merchant of Venice
Open Meeting Wednesday 6th February — 7.30pm
Come along to our third open club meeting at the Little Theatre. There's a lot to discuss including our future productions, mucking in to look after our theatre, special events such as a costume store clear out (with dressing up time if you like) and other social events. Hope you can make it. If you have items you want to discuss or raise, let Carron or Biddy know.
News about Productions....
- From February: the SCDA festival entry is Quelques Fleurs by Liz Lochead (now cast).
- May: Three One Act plays still to be decided and cast.
- Summer: A junior production (if not a one act play in May)
- And possibly a senior production of The Vagina Monologues
- Autumn: open to suggestions / Directors
- Christmas: Panto — still to be selected.
If you have ideas for the panto please come to the Open Meeting.
Do you have items in the wardrobe store?
If so, then come to the open meeting — we're arranging when to start our clear out around Easter — if redundant items are not claimed, they'll be binned. If you can't make the meeting, phone Biddy (236198 ) or Carron (731614).
The Merchant of Venice
Performed by the RSC, “The Merchant of Venice” is coming to Forres from 7th to 11th May (the only Scottish dates). We'll decide the club date for attending at the open meeting.
Capital of Culture Ideas
Have you ideas for the Highland bid? 2008 ideas are sought, let's see if the Florians can generate some good ideas. We'll do a brainstorming game at the Open Meeting.
