News and Upcoming Events
SCDA: Our 2023 entry for the SCDA was "The Super Seniors' Keep Fit Class", written and directed by Fiona Black. The first round was held in Nairn on 24th and 25th February where we won the MacLeod Trophy for 2nd place, taking us through to the next round. At this event we were also delighted to see the first presentation of the Claire Cameron trophy for best stage presentation being awarded to the Loch Ness Luvvies. The second round took place on 25th March in Thurso and we were delighted to be awarded 2nd place and put through to the Scottish final in Stirling in early May. Unfortunately we did not place in this next round and our SCDA journey came to an end, but we are very proud of our team to have made it so far! If anyone is interested in directing for the 2024 festival, please get in touch!
For our 2022 Panto, Snow White, we tried something new in the run-up to our show where organised an access session for anyone who might be nervous about coming along to a panto. It gave children, some of whom may not have experienced a panto before, the opportunity to come along to a rehearsal and familiarise themselves with the story, hear some of the sound affects, learn about some panto traditions, and meet some of the characters. It was very well received by all who attended and it is something that we will be sure to do again in the future. Please click here to read more about this session.
The Florians are currently embarking on a programme of extensive improvement works to our theatre including the installation of increased ventilation throughout the building in order to improve the quality of the air shared both by performers and our customers. Although we have received grants to help with the cost of this we would be very grateful for any donations. If you would like to donate please contact florians.secretary@gmail.com.
PARKING: For those of you coming to the theatre, please be aware that there are now parking restrictions on the streets around the theatre, so please allow yourself more time to find somewhere to park. We also now have 2 designated disabled bays at the back door of the theatre.
