There is evil brewing in the kingdom as a wicked Queen plots to become fairest in all the land. Her only obstacle is her stepdaughter Snow White, who is about to celebrate her eighteenth birthday. So the Queen must hatch a plan to get rid of Snow White and rule the kingdom. Can Snow White foil her wretched scheme? She just may be able to… with a little help from her friends.
In this larger-than-life retelling of a classic fairy tale we are joined by Jackie the Jester, Dame Bertha, the Fairy Godmother and Prince Harmless as they attempt to throw a very special shindig for the birthday girl. And on Snow White’s journey she meets a group of loveable but hapless mineworkers known as The Seven Drams. Penned by Inverness based comedian and writer Kieran Lochore specifically for The Florians, The show boasts lots and lots of traditional pantomime fun. This year we tried something new in the run-up to our show where we organised an access session for anyone who might be nervous about coming along to a panto. It gave children, some of whom may not have experienced a panto before, the opportunity to come along to a rehearsal and familiarise themselves with the story, hear some of the sound effects, learn about some panto traditions, and meet some of the characters. It was very well received by all who attended and it is something that we will be sure to do again in the future. Please click here to read more about this session.
